Clinical breast examination (CBE) – Interpretation: abnormal/positive cases

  

  • CBE is considered abnormal or positive if you find any of the following abnormalities:
    • a lump in the breast or axilla;
    • recent changes in the size and shape of the breast;
    • changes in the skin;
    • changes in the nipple; or
    • discharge from the nipple.

Abnormal unilateral enlargement of the breast








Abnormal unilateral reduction in breast size :




Skin changes
Abnormal skin colour












Skin ulceration








Changes in the nipple
Abnormal nipple retraction and excoriation
