Breast pathology – Histopathology of the breast – Description and significance of the components of the report – Lymphovascular invasion

Lymphovascular invasion is an independent adverse prognostic factor associated with higher risk of local recurrence and reduced survival.
A clear rim of endothelium should be present before considering that a lymphovascular space has been identified.
