Case summary:

Postmenopausal woman presented with left mastalgia. Diagnosed as BI-RADS 1 on imaging.

Learning points:


  • Breast pain (mastalgia) is a common symptom in women. Nearly 70% of women experience mastalgia at some stage of life. For imaging in women with mastalgia, ultrasound is recommended in women younger than 40 years and mammography is recommended for women older than 40 years.
