Before application of acetic acid: The cervix appears normal. Note the “fish mouth” appearance of the external os.

After application of acetic acid: Dense acetowhite areas are present on both the anterior and posterior lips. The lesion extends into the endocervical canal.

After application of Lugol’s iodine: Lugol's iodine clearly demarcates the abnormal area, which appears bright mustard yellow and occupies all four quadrants of the cervix.

Determined eligibility for ablative treatment:

Histopathology: HSIL-CIN3

Remarks: Large dense acetowhite areas with extension into the endocervical canal are not suitable for treatment by ablative methods.
