Before application of acetic acid: The ectocervix is covered by pink mature squamous epithelium. No abnormal discharge is seen.

Cervix before application of acetic acid:

After application of acetic acid: The transparent acetowhite area with feathery margins present at the 12 o’clock position is suggestive of squamous metaplasia. On the posterior lip, a dense acetowhite area with sharp margins can be seen detached from the SCJ.

Histopathology: Posterior lip: LSIL-HPV changes

Remarks: The denser acetowhite area on the posterior lip is a flat condyloma caused by infection with low-risk HPV types.
