Before application of acetic acid: The cervix is covered with mucopurulent discharge.

Histopathology: Adenocarcinoma in situ

Remarks: Persistent dense acetowhite areas on the columnar epithelium with contact bleeding and surface irregularity should raise the suspicion of a cancer arising from the columnar epithelium, although these are rare.
