  • Before application of acetic acid: The cervix is covered with profuse grey-white discharge.

    After application of acetic acid: Small round nulliparous external os. The SCJ is fully visible. No acetowhite area.

  • Remarks: Grey-white or yellow malodorous discharge is commonly seen in infections caused by Gardnerella vaginalis and Mycoplasma hominis. Syndromic management of bacterial vaginosis is suggested.
