Determined eligibility for ablative treatment (if HPV-positive):
Histopathology: Not done
Remarks: The SCJ on the posterior lip is partially (<2 mm) inside the endocervical canal. Gentle manipulations, such as opening the speculum blades wider or applying gentle pressure on the outer aspect of the posterior lip of the ectocervix or to the posterior vaginal fornix with moist cotton swabs, may evert the cervical lip and make the SCJ completely visible. Ablative treatment is possible even though the SCJ is a little inside the endocervical canal. The pressure of the probe allows the entire TZ to be covered and treated.
