After application of Lugol’s iodine: The margins of the lesion are sharply demarcated by Lugol’s iodine, which helps to delineate the area to be treated.

Remarks: Thin acetowhite areas with angular or digitating margins are commonly associated with HPV infections, but they can coexist with low-grade precancers and should be considered as VIA-positive.
