  • Before application of acetic acid: The central red patch is columnar epithelium, and the peripheral pink area is covered by squamous epithelium.

  • Cervix before application of acetic acid:

    After application of acetic acid: The SCJ is fully visible. Multiple advancing edges of epithelium projecting towards the external os are seen on both the anterior and posterior lips.
