Before application of acetic acid: A nodular growth is present on the anterior lip, with bleeding on contact.

Cervix before application of acetic acid:

After application of acetic acid: Dense acetowhite areas are visible on the growth. Surface irregularity is prominent. The multiple red patches are eroded areas.

Remarks: Most of the growth has not turned white after application of acetic acid; this is not uncommon in invasive cancer.
