Before application of acetic acid: The cervix is obscured by copious mucopurulent discharge.

After application of acetic acid: A large dense acetowhite area occupies almost the entire cervix. Surface irregularity is present.

Remarks: The lesion is large and the surface is irregular closer to the external os. The multiple bleeding points on the surface of the lesion should also raise the suspicion of invasive cancer.
