After application of Lugol’s iodine: The acetowhite area does not stain with Lugol’s iodine and appears as a distinct yellow lesion.

Remarks: The inner margin of the lesion extends into the endocervical canal. Such lesions, although they are small, should not be treated by ablation, because there may be severe disease inside the endocervical canal.
