After application of acetic acid: Dense acetowhite areas with sharp margins and attached to the SCJ are seen at the 5–7 o’clock position. A few satellite lesions are present on the ectocervix. A thin acetowhite area is present on the anterior lip as well.

After application of Lugol’s iodine: The margins of the lesion are well delineated. The dense acetowhite area appears bright mustard yellow.

Remarks: The outer margin of the lesion is clearly demarcated by the sharp colour contrast seen after application of Lugol’s iodine. The large abnormal iodine-negative area on the ectocervix is not suitable for treatment by ablation.
