Before application of acetic acid: Multiple nabothian cysts are seen as yellowish blisters on the ectocervix.

Cervix before application of acetic acid:

Nabothian cyst

After application of acetic acid: The extent of the TZ can be delineated by the location of the nabothian cysts. No acetowhite area in the TZ.

Histopathology: Not done

Remarks: With a magnified view, the branching pattern of normal blood vessels over nabothian cysts is well visible. However, such features are not visualized on naked-eye examination during VIA.
