Interpretation of VIA

The categories of VIA test outcomes are:

Negative
Positive
Suspicious of invasive cancer.

Rarely, the cervix cannot be exposed properly. In such cases, help should be sought from a colleague. If, even then, the cervix cannot be exposed, the test should be considered as “could not be performed”.
