Abnormal colposcopy – General assessment | |
As discussed earlier, a general assessment should be documented during all colposcopic examinations and includes the following:
- whether the colposcopic examination is adequate or inadequate (and if inadequate, for what reason)
- the visibility of the squamocolumnar junction (SCJ): fully visible, partially visible, or not visible
- the type of transformation zone (TZ): type 1, type 2, or type 3.
