Interpretation of VIA – Negative – Polyps with faint acetowhite colour

Polyps with faint acetowhite colour:
Mucous polyps protruding through the external os may appear faint acetowhite because of metaplastic changes on the surface of the polyp and should not be considered as VIA-positive.
