Treatment by LLETZ – Avoiding injury to the vagina

If the cervix and/or the lesion is large, the vaginal walls are in danger of coming into contact with the loop. Push in the lateral fornix with a large cotton swab to move the cervix to one side. Keep the loop in the centre of the field of view, and release the pressure on the cotton swab so that the cervix moves across the loop. Put the cotton swab in the opposite fornix, pushing gradually to continue moving the cervix across the loop.
