ALLIANCE FOR CERVICAL CANCER PREVENTION (ACCP) OBJECTIVES
The five Alliance partners EngenderHealth, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), the JHPIEGO Corporation, the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), and Program for Appropriate Technology in Health (PATH) together set four project objectives:
1) Assess new screening and treatment approaches and technologies appropriate to low resource settings;
2) Improve the delivery of preventive services;
3) Encourage community involvement in screening efforts and ensure that community needs and perspectives are incorporated into program design;
4) Advocate for increased global awareness and support for cervical cancer prevention.
To advance each of these four objectives, the Alliance created "affinity groups" -working groups of staff from each Alliance organization who have expertise in that area: Screening and treatment technologies, Service delivery systems, Community involvement and Advocacy.
